Hi
I’m post menopause and started continuous Utrogestan 100mg and Oestrogel (1pump) about 2 months ago.
My symptoms were Anxiety which appeared from nowhere and waking up most mornings with nausea. The anxiety has certainly improved since starting this HRT regime but I still wake up every morning with nausea.
I’m just interested if there is anyone else in the same boat with advice on what might help. I have been feeling like this for nearly 10 months. GP has checked bloods and all satisfactory.
Thank you

Hello Grogu and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear you have constant nausea. How horrible for you. I remember having nausea when my oestrogen was low. I wonder if this is the same for you.
It is great your anxiety has improved.

Thank you for your message. It is great that the anxiety has improved as it was having a huge impact on day to day life (working, driving, social events)
I thought I might stick with the 1 pump of Oestrogel for the 3 months then up to 2 pumps to see if it made any difference..

I had horrendous continuous nausea. It went once I was on the right amount of oestrogen.

I know it’s early days for me being on HRT and I’m so glad it has helped with my anxiety but every so often I ask myself how long should I take it before I stop taking it, just to see if the anxiety has stopped… 6 months, 1 year?

HRT can be taken for life. If you stop then it is likely your anxiety will come back as your oestrogen drops again.

You don't have to go straight from one pump to two. You could just add a little extra in and see how you go. Concerned that a whole extra pump in one go might be too much.
I feel for you with the nausea, I had that when my estrogen was low too.

I’m 10 years post menopause and these symptoms have just appeared over the past 10 months. I was hoping it would go as quick as it came😊

Thanks Penguin, I may just try that first.

Nausea: is there any reason not to take over the counter travel sickness meds.?
HRT may take 6-8 months to kick in.

When the nausea was at its worse about 6 months ago I was prescribed Prochlorperazine but it's not something I would want to take every single day.

How long did the effects last?
Ginger biscuits?
Ginger tea?
Grated ginger in your evening meal? It's good for easing nausea.

Sometimes it can last all day and sometimes it can improve by late morning. Drinking PUKKA tea and ginger biscuits are always close by :)

I suffered with daily nausea from the age of 3 until well into my 30s, GP prescribed betablockas which helped. As well as eating little and often.
