Post by: Booroo on July 05, 2023, 03:27:48 PM
So long story short am peri been on hrt since January 2x0.5sandrena and double dose mini pill however after months of bleeding got referred on 2 week pathway glad to say all biopsies absolutely fine and had coil inserted. Bleeding stopped within 2 days however been still taking the pills was out on gas and air and Di t take in what she said lol. Roll to today and had a funny feeling this morning going out to car like I was going to collapse but didn’t ,felt bit dizzy managed to drive etc got home felt sick and had the shakes so ate in case hypo and I rang doctor in case it was anything, she thinks it’s too much progesterone do stopping pills tomorrow, I have felt like crap all day not been this bad for ages but have had a lot of worry in last 3 weeks but what got me was the all of a sudden feeling and think I panicked cos I said out loud o god I. Having a stroke stupid woman I wouldn’t have known if it was. But feeling drained now. Waking up every 2 hours by night the same times dunno what that’s about either, still feeling edgy and spaced. Sorry for essay I e cried loads too.

I hope you start feeling better soon, you don't need the mini pill with the coil so once that's out your system you should notice an improvement. Anxiety will drain you also and it sounds like you may have had a panic attack.
Too much progesterone will cause anxiety and agitation similar to the days before a period with PMT.  You may get another period now the progesterone has been reduced with stopping the mini pill then hopefully it will all settle down again.

HORMONES  >:(

Do U feel supported by your GP in that he/she knows about peri-menopause?

Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary is useful.

Low blood sugar can cause those feelings so do make a written note of your diet night and day, plus your liquid intake for the next 5 days.  Every snack, every treat ....... I was advised by the National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome to eat every 3 hours to avoid those queasy un-usual feelings.  Even in the night!  Grazing helps me a lot.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi OP, so sorry to hear that you are going through a rough time. It seems like nobody understands right? :( I don't really know the treatments that you are on. I was on Estradot patches 50mcg then 100mcg with Prometrium which is progesterone 100mg. I can identify with the anxiety/panic attacks and the shaky part of things. I believe I was on too high a dose of Estrogen. I have come off estradot patches for a week now to reset my body and the shaky part is much better. Still not 100%. I then stopped taking the progesterone too, since my recent ultrasound for my uterus comes back fine with the lining.

I felt dizzy and weird at times too eversince starting on HRT. Apparently progesterone can dull the mental side of things. The packaging of my Prometrium says 'this medicine may affect mental alertness and coordination'. I also wrote to the manufacturer who says that yes progesterone can cause dizzy spells so best take it at night. Yikes! Sometimes I feel that I am more clumsy now. I am shaky doing work and walking...

Maybe have to tweak your treatment a bit. Maybe go back to your prescriber? I hope you feel better soon.
