Hi all
I am struggling with the progesterone part of my HRT. I'm on evorel 100 patches and 100mg utrogestan vaginally for 12 days. I'm 48 and peri.
I've had the mirena coil in the past (years ago) and it made me feel really low and foggy headed and lots of migraines.
Utrogestan seems to make my anxiety really bad and low mood and irritable.
I know there's loads of posts about utro intolerance but I wondered if anyone has found an alternative progesterone which works well for them? Is utrogestan the only body identical one?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I think utrogestan is the only body identical progesterone. Then it’s synthetic stuff like norethistone, provera and a couple of others.
I’m surprised you are feeling this way taking the utrogestan vaginally. Usually that fixes the problem.
Progesterone is usually the demon part of HRT and the one which women struggle with.
Hopefully someone will come on soon and say what has worked for them.

I cannot tolerate Utrogestan orally or vaginally. The effects aren’t ‘as’ bad vaginally but still not tolerable.
I switched from Utrogestan to Cyclogest pessaries for the last 6 days of this cycle and it was much better. I was shocked as it’s the same micronised progesterone (without the fillers/ binders) as Utrogestan. I’m going to try just taking Cyclogest for my next cycle and am hopeful.
Maybe cyclogest is one for you to try?
