Title: Seidigestan / Utrogestan?
Post by: Tracy Allgonewrong on June 17, 2023, 07:21:31 PM
Is Seidigestan the same as Utrogestan? A friend has brought some from Spain as my pharmacy are unable to locate some but I'm not sure it's the same!

Morning.  MayB put the product names into the search box: individually: to see what pops up?

Thanks CLKD, first thing I tried, but there's nothing. For what I've seen on Internet it should be the same but it's not certain. I would look at the chemistry involved in the instructions inside the box but they are sealed and my friend may have to fly back with them and return them. If it's not the same I'm in the shit as I only have Utrogestan left for 4 days.

In the UK once a medication has left the chemist it cannot be returned.  Is your friend certain that she can take it back?  You should be able to find out the product details on the internet.

I believe Seid to be the Spanish distributor of Utrogestan and maybe they change the name. I've done all the searches I could and now emailed the lab just to confirm. The boxes are sealed and my friend thinks she can return them but hopefully she won't have to try.

Let us know how you get on.  The product details should be on the net, have you tried BOOTs website or similar ........ ?  DH often looks at products to find out their technical information B4 we buy which includes items like sun screen.

How do U feel overall?

According to a menopause group I am in, they are the Spanish version of Utrogestan and in Ireland some pharmacies are giving them to women as that's all they can source at the moment with the shortages.

Thank you for all replies. Indeed the pills look the same (I broke the seal and opened one box).  I am going to start taking it.
