Hello Sam and welcome to the forum. They say it can take 3 months to know if HRT needs tweaking. How long have you been on 2 pumps of oestrogen? If it is less then 3 months then it could be your body needs more time to adjust to it. If you are still having hot flushes after the 3 months then you could increase it.

I was on 1 pump for 4 weeks now 2 pumps for 3 weeks I go very hot like a hot flush and light headed I had the very odd hot flush before starting but seems to have made them really bad I mainly went on hrt for my mental health and anxiety as went to a really bad place and being pri menopausal both of them together is like putting petrol on a fir and tiredness it definitely helped with mood anxiety it’s helped as it’s not a magic wand as I suffer from anxiety anyway I have a couple of good days with no hot flush’s then maybe 7 or 8 a day then that makes the anxiety worse just wondering if this is normal to bring on hot flush’s thanks for your reply

HRT is meant to help with the hot flushes rather then cause them. What an annoying symptom you are having. It is great to hear your anxiety has improved as that is such a horrid thing to have.
I wonder if it is the progesterone that you may not be tolerating. Which one are you using?

Utrogestan 100mg x2 thanks

It is possible you are reacting to the ultrogestan but it is so encouraging your anxiety has improved.
I am sure some more knowledgeable members will be along to share their opinions with you soon.

Great thank you it’s so hard to find anybody to talk to about this and how it can help and make things worse or if someone else has the same problem and if it settles I hope someone else can talk to thanks again

You are so welcome. I know what you mean as I have nobody I can talk to about this either.
One thing I know is some women cannot tolerate ultrogestan and if you are one of those do not worry as you can try a different progesterone. Here is a link that will show you all the various HRT preparations.

It can take time to find the right HRT so please do not worry if the first one you try does not suit. You are most welcome. :)
