Morning ladies! Any ideas if a white discharge is a sign of low or high estrogen? I’ve been on HRT for 4+ years and have the coil so no idea if peri or post xx
-
White discharge is normal unless clumpy like cottage cheese. Is it itchy, sore or smelly?
-
No all normal really, just looking for a clue if it could be related to estrogen levels x
-
When I stopped having discharge post menopausal it was lack of oestrogen. That's when vaginal atropy began because of being so dry. Your HRT will keeps your levels up so unless you stop it you might not know if you're post meno. Tests are not always reliable.

Thank you Dierdre! So I presume if I reduce my estrogen further I may get problems like dryness? X
-
Not necessarily, not everyone suffers with vaginal atrophy. The symptoms you had before HRT could return but nobody really knows until they stop taking it.
Is there a reason why you are reducing your HRT, do you feel well on it?

I have more anxiety and restless sleep when I have the white discharge so just looking for clues really? I’ve been on HRT a long time now high and low but can’t seem to get the balance right, however I feel better on the low dose? X
-
Just take the low dose if that suits you better. You can always increase if needed.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! It’s all a minefield even now! Will think about reducing to 50, like you say I can increase if needed xx
