Post by: freewillbabie on June 14, 2023, 10:52:16 AM
hi everyone im new, im 50 years, never had kids, still having periods, but im getting all these horrible things, but when i found this forum, put my mind at rest to know im not alone.

started with bad fatigue, racing heart, my mind feels like it plays tricks on me, like i feel like a major drama queen, everything is highly strung like im keyed up in my mind. then anxiety started to kick in, even just scrolling through media or watch tv at times it would start. hot flushes, just doing dishes with hot water, hot foods seem triggers, i just literally thought i was losing my mind, crying all the time, just wanted to vent lol.

U Vent away !    :welcomemm: to the wonderful world ........

How are your periods?  The Change - does what it says on the tin.  In peri menopause we often find weird and not so wonderful symptoms - as oestrogen levels drop the body may become dry: inside and out; skin, scalp, vagina, between the toes; deep in the ears, eyes, nostrils ....... oestrogen is the oil that keeps us moving so muscles may become lax = aches and pains.

Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.  Let us know which symptom you would like to ease first.

Hello and welcome to the forum. The itching of the vagina could be vaginal atrophy. This is treated with localised oestrogen. You can have it in pessary or cream form. You will feel a lot more comfortable if you get some. The usual ones are Vagifem and Ovestin.

You will find lots of support on here. :)

thats awesome thank you.

I say my periods are every two and half weeks, but i have went a whole month a few weeks without a period, a few months ago and i thought that was it, but they came back.. then had a little spotting but went off.

But it really awesome just to talk to know you kinda not alone in it all.

My periods waxed and waned for several years: regular then missed months then back again  ::) until during 2002 I noticed that they had finished.

I can't remember how many years that I was in peri-menopause  ::) other than periods doing exactly what they wanted.  Menopause = the last bleed.  Ever.  However, Nature may throw in a curved ball  >:(  ::)

You sound like me at the minute, doing dishes and eating hot food, next minute you fill like your insides are on fire, watching TV then palpitations, increased tinnitus and hot flush, multiple times a day, it's horrendous

Are you  taking anything for relief at this early stage?

few things, a little concoction of sorts lol.
I started taking evening primrose tablets for hotness, L-theanine for anxiety, wild yam for oestrogen, now and again Hemp oil for anxiety, vitamin e to reduce stress, 5-HTP for sleep and now and again i take drops of hawthorn berry to reduce palpations, but i don't take it all that often, like i didn't want to live on it, just when i got them sensations ya know

But the best thing is to keep drinking water too.  I also use lavender oil to calm me when i get anxious too, like lately ive been feeling shakey internally, and it calms me, not totally but a little ya know

but it is easing, the doc threw me straight onto anti depressants, and i just didn't want to go down that route, just wanted to stay the natural way through herbs. but each to there own lol.

But yeah whatever works, everyone different and everyone's change is different to what I've read.
