Title: Heat affecting patch absorption
Post by: Pippa52 on June 13, 2023, 09:57:39 AM
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed that the heat seems to affect the absorption rate of the patches? Mine seems to be running out sooner since the hot weather arrived. Xx

Yes I am wondering this - I actually posted about it yesterday. I think possibly if I sit out in the sun and the clothes on top of the patch get hot it is running out early. But I am still in early days of the hrt so hard to know if just fluctuating because of that

I have just switched from patches to gel as my patches kept sweating off with this new burst of heat were having! But, i did read something somewhere about heat and patches and to avoid baths, hot tubs etc because of something called 'patch dumping' i think it was called. or estrogen dumping. it said the heat makes the patch release more estrogen than usual. whether its true or not im not sure, but it made me weary x
