Hi
I entered memopause 3 weeks ago, after going 12 months with no periods.
However, yesterday I started spotting (pinky blood when wiping), and today it's more like a period, albeit very very light, so light I haven't needed to change a pad.
It is advised to get any post menopause bleeding investigated so I'm a bit worried as to why this has happened.
Can anyone offer any help/insight into this please? Has it happened to anyone?
I'm not taking, and have never taken any form of hrt (I've not needed it).
Thanks

Hi VioletAquarius
I had a bleed after being postmeno for about 2 and a half years, at the time I wasn't on hrt. My gp arranged a scan and it showed everything was fine.

12 months is just a guide. I would probably speak to your GP but I doubt it’s anything to be concerned about.

I had it too a year after my last period. I went for a scan and everything was fine, jus hormonal. It's always good to contact the GP.

I agree with the above, very likely to be your own hormones but getting checked out will stop you worrying about it.

Agree with all the above.
The body doesn't consult a calendar, everyone is different, so 12 months is just a general guide. Not set in stone.
Speak to your GP? If you are offered a scan you can put your mind at rest. :)

Thanks everybody, I will mention to my gp and see what they say.
