Title: 37yo starting HRT
Post by: Witchinghour on May 28, 2023, 06:39:55 AM
Hi all,

After seeing my consultant and having female hormones checked it was confirmed I am perimenopausal and so will start HRT at my next appointment.

Can anyone talk me through it? What should I expect?

Welcome to the forum and the HRT ride. It’s different for everyone and can be scary at first just because you don’t know what to expect, but many people see an improvement in some of their symptoms fairly soon with bigger improvements over the coming weeks/months. It can take some time to get your regime right so do talk to your doc if you feel worse on HRT or if you don’t see any improvement at all. Wishing you all the very best. This forum is a godsend and you will get so much support here!

Thanks for the support.

I feel a bit cheated to be starting so soon but I'm glad there is room for improvement.

I just have no clue what to expect! None of my friends are in peri and my mum was never on HRT due to breast cancer so I'm really coming at it blind.
