Title: Change from combined patch to oestrogen only
Post by: Florrie2 on May 27, 2023, 05:06:36 PM
Hi. I’ve tried to Google the answer but got nowhere!

I’ve been on Evorel Conti (combined) patch for about 22 months after having a hysterectomy. After a face to face with the doctor about something else, she said she thought going to Evorel 50 (oestrogen only) may help. She then gave me a year’s prescription. I was surprised so didn’t ask anything.

Surely I should have a follow up to see how it affects me?
Do I just stop the Evorel Conti and go onto the Evorel 50? Should I save some Evorel Conti I case the Evorel 50 doesn’t suit me?

I was on combined because I’d also had endometriosis removed with the hysterectomy by an endo specialist. I know this is controversial but he’d always said I should be on oestrogen only (because he believed he had removed everything) and I was only on combined because the doctor disagreed. The specialist relented (he retired shortly afterwards so presume he couldn’t be bothered with the argument) and said I could go onto oestrogen only after around 2 years.

Thanks in advance.
