Does any1 buy from Etsy and how does 1 go about doing so?
-
You can just go to their website to make an account, then place your order. :)
-
Tnx.

Have a look at the Ts&Cs first. It's probably about 5 years ago so may have changed since but if the item doesn't arrive you lost your money, no comeback like there is on ebay.
-
Etsy is a good site,I've bought lots from there :)
-
Creative people I know have shops on there and sell their goods. I made my first order this week and it was the easiest online ordering I have ever done, very fuss free.
-
My dd has been selling crocheted stuff on Etsy for years, she can make some decent pocket change. I've ordered as well and been very happy with what I bought.
-
Tnx. I've seen some tops that I like as well as would be suitable for C.mas gifts ;)
-
Well I am not impressed with Etsy but perhaps its the seller I chose. Still waiting over a week for two headbands that are being posted from Yorkshire.
Even taking the bank holiday into account, I think its a bit long to wait. I've had much quicker service from Ebay sellers.

How long has it been since the shipping date? I find some sellers have a longer shipping date but if it has passed then I would send them a message asking for an update. :)

I believe that in some parts of England post is being delivered once a week due to shortage of staff :o - tuff if there's a Hopsital/dental appt in there!
-
Perhaps you're right, Flossieteacake, I've had a look at my email from them. It does say expected delivery date 25/31 May. I placed the order on the 22nd May.
And with the state of play with our postal service in recent times, it's probably adding to a possible delay.
I will give it to next Monday before contacting them but hopefully will arrive before then.

I use Etsy a lot and find a message to the seller if any problems or queries is always answered in a quick and mutually friendly manner.
-
Tnx. Now of course I can't find where I saved the tops that I fancied buying ::) ..........
-
Did you save them by pressing the ❤ button which is your favourites maybe?
-
Probably - but I'm a menopausal woman ;D
-
But the bonus is you can actually remember what you were looking for if not where!! ;D
-
Two headbands I am still waiting for I could have made myself if I could be asked or arsed, depending where in the country you live ;D
I won't bother ordering again from Etsy, just looked again at my account on Etsy, it says estimated delivery 31 May to 3 June, really, in this day and age!!

Etsy accused of 'destroying' sellers by withholding money

Another reason not to bother with them. Facebook seems a great alternative to set up a business from what I have experienced.

:thankyou:
-
That's a shame,I've never had any issues with Etsy :(
-
I'm a real Etsy girl. I too have never had any issues using them. Find the sellers quick to reply to any queries and willing to helping an item seems delayed. I don't do Facebook, but I love a good window shop on Etsy!
