Hello women!
I just found this group through a Google search on progesterone and endometriosis. I have
mast cell activation syndrome,
Ehlers-Danlos syndrome,
severe lipo-lymphedema (abnormal fat/lymph drainage) which is exacerbated by estrogen!
and so much more.
I had a total hysterectomy in 2012, which found...
severe endometriosis with very dense adhesions (spine and pelvis),
mucinous tumour,
PCOS,
precancerous cervix.
For 8 years, I was on estrogen-only HRT. I stopped it, but the hot flashes were too severe and I restarted it last year. This time, my GP put me on progesterone as well as estrogen because I had endo. (The gynaecologist should've done that 10 years ago!)
HERE'S THE RUB --
I had horrible reactions to progesterone in the past and I'm scared to take it again. Now I'm worried about taking estrogen too!
What's a complex woman to do? Any feedback would be MUCH appreciated!

If you have your womb you should have been prescribed progesterone immediately. It shouldn't be necessary otherwise, though some ladies find it helps symptoms.
It amazes me that our own hormones 'turn against us' as we go into peri >:(

Thanks for answering! I had a total hysterectomy -- nothing left but the tunnel. -- So if I'm understanding correctly, without a womb (or ovaries) estrogen is all I need? There is no chance that endometriosis can continue to grow? Not even the adhesions? Do you have any advice on how long to stay on estrogen?
