Hi, has anyone else experienced brittle hair during perimenopause. This started for me a couple of years ago, am now 49. I have now had to have several inches cut off due to dry split ends. I have a healthy diet, regular hair cuts, dont have my hair coloured or use products so am thinking it may be due have something to do with my hormones?

Hi helsey. Just a quick reply as off to bed but my brittle hair was caused by very low VitD. It's worth getting a blood test if you haven't had one. Low VitD can cause many health problems.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Helsey I have, my hair felt like straw and was thinning 🙄 like you I have regular cuts, I do have mine coloured but always have only a few times a year. Bloods were all fine. I have started using supplements and invested in a good shampoo and it's finally fstarting to feel a little better xxx

Thanks Cara, glad your have started to see some improvement with your hair. Mine has also got alot thinner. I started HRT a month ago and it has helped with some of my other symptoms so hoping if it is related to hormones I may yet see some improvement but I think it also may be worth exploring supplements as you say. My doctor has indicated that it may just be due to age but I am not ready to accept that quite yet 🤣.
