Hi All
Just wondering if everyone is aware of the emergency alert this Sunday at 3pm for situations such as hurricanes, wild fires, flooding and (hopefully not!) nuclear attacks.
I regard this as an obtrusive overreaction and have already turned off these alerts.
Each to their own but it’s not for me!

I began a thread a few weeks ago. I find it intrusive, however, in many parts of the World alerts have saved lives.
-
They probably have CLKD, especially in areas where there is limited access to TV and radio which after all is what we’ve relied on for decades!
Will be useful though I suppose for TPTB to warn us of the next pandemic, just incase we happen to miss it on the 📺 :-\

I’m absolutely fine with it. It has its uses in other countries to alert people of children being abducted and the option is there to switch off the notification on your phone if you don’t want it. I don't know whether the child abduction notification will be available here but I hope it will be.

TPTB?

I agree Hurdity :-\ I've bounced my thread on this . I've never relied on radio/TV for alerts. Years ago there were News Flashes because we didn't have rolling 24 hour programmes.
-
Yes, I remember the news flashes we used to get but that was when we only had a couple of stations to watch. Now there are so many that most people would miss an emergency notice. It has to come by our phones as they are literally our third arm and never out of our sight, mine anyway! ;D
-
I would not normally be interested in these alerts but I do worry sometimes about the present nuclear threat. However unless you have a bunker or a private jet I’m not sure they would be much use. What is TBTP? Also the fact you can turn off the notifications is the main thing.

TPTB the powers that be?

Oh yeah of course, thanks Taz! X

I'll be in my local for my Sunday tipple at 3. We're all wondering quite how loud it will be with all of our phones going off at once ;D
-
;D it’s funny they’ve made such a big deal of it on the news, I even put it in my diary, it’s like this important event! It will probably freak out my cat if I’m home. Oh well we’ll find out tomorrow!
-
A lot of hostelries have asked clients to leave mobiles in the car!
-
TPTB yes correct Taz.
The WHO and WEF do not have our best interests at heart and a great awakening is needed to see how utterly corrupt these two organisations are.

Oh my goodness Marchlove what do you mean?

Katherine, I’m only a single messenger amongst a growing network of people, trying to awaken everyone as to what the last three years have been about.
The World Health Organisation and the World Economic Forum are international globalist’s who I’m afraid
do not love humankind.

Many people are corrupt; across the World. They gain power in many ways and are able to draw like-minded people into their group. I can think of many UK organisations that have been taken over by activitists :'(.
This Emergency Alert is about protecting the public; unless they are driving for example. It has a proven assistance record across parts of the World. Off to switch off my mobile ;-)
-
Personally, i'm fine with it, I think there are a lot of paranoid people out there.
-
No issues with it here.
Could be a problem for domestic abuse victims though, if they fail to switch the alarm off. :(
-
I just turned off the notifications at 2.52 as I was worried the noise would scare my cat. ;D
-
Don't think the emergency alert happened in Wales.
It's well past 3pm, several mobiles were on, no noise at all.
-
I'm in Wales. My phone didn't get the alert. My husband's did. Strange.
-
My cooker alarm sounds louder than that. Cat slept through it😸
-
I had my mobile off, when I switched it on at 3.15 it was screeching like a banshee ......... or what I imagine a banshee would sound like ;D. 5 of us stood together, mine was off, 1 didn't react, the others blared.
-
It seems only those with a smartphone will be saved - no alert on my basic phone or land-line.
-
Fujitsu- the same company that ran the post office horizon disaster and are still under investigation!
