Hi, I am 53 and peri-menopausal.
I have just been prescribed Femoston 1/10 by the GP. However, when the prescription came through, it was for Femoston AND Estradiol 1mg. I spoke to the surgery receptionist to ask why and (after reading the notes) she said I needed to take the Estradiol for 14 days and the Femoston for 14 days.
This still seems strange?

Hi that doesn’t sound right.
Is the Estradiol a cream ?
Femoston 1/10 is a sequential hrt. There should be two colours of tablets in the packet. You take them everyday. Two weeks of one colour and two weeks of the other colour. One contains oestrogen and the other contains oestrogen and progesterone.

Thanks Dotty, that's what I thought. The Estradiol is a tablet.

Very strange :(
You don’t need an estradiol tablet with the Femoston. Is this your first HRT ?
