As the title really.
Recommended to start continuous progesterone (utrogestan) with my HRT instead of sequential by GP.
Just realised she never mentioned anything about a three days break. I have heard of some people doing this….is it common practise? NHS website just says to be taken every day.
Thanks

hi vamilla lover
im post meno i dont know where you are in menopause however i take mine continous which if your post meno you usually take it like this.
ive found this though. it may help
it is stated that the continuous regime will cause a lesser withdrawal bleed. The break would aid the oestrogen and progesterone receptors being recovered (like a reset) so helps avoid excessive bleeding or unexplained breakthrough bleeding.
.take care xx

Thank you! The instruction leaflet in the box says days 1-25. But all the NHS literature I’ve seen says to take continuously.
Hmmm….

Hi you can take it every day if post menopausal x

It can be useful in late peri as it allows a bleed if there's been a build up. You could try it this way and see what happens, if you don't bleed then go to continuous.
