Title: Newbie needed advice
Post by: TC4775 on March 03, 2023, 09:09:20 PM
After three different doctors appointments and over three years I  finally got it confirmed
That I am going through the menopause
Now I am struggling with what to eat
I downloaded a app called balance and I also ready somewhere that too much cheese is saturated fat so I can't eat much of that and don't have too much carbs as its causes bloating
I belong to a slimming world group and I am 3 pounds away from my 3 and a half stone But I get near there but not got there since last August but before lockdown I got to my target weight unfortunately lockdown happened and I gain one and a half stone
I got another doctors appointment in a few weeks for a blood pressure check and a chat about HRT

Don't worry about 3lb, that can be the weight of a poo ;-).

Browse round.   :welcomemm:  some find that keeping a mood/food/syptom diary of use to chart progress and to take to the appts..

Stop reading about what foods 'might' have in them.  A balanced diet with plenty of protein, fruits and veg. is important.  Regular exercise to improve bone health.  VitD supplements if required.

Let us know how you get on.

I don't weigh myself these days,as I either get anxiety if I've lost too much or down in the dumps if I've put on too much,it's a no win situation.
During meno,we can put on weight, there's no helping it but like clkd says, exercising is great, now spring is approaching go for a nice walk daily if you can.
I love zero fat yogurts with some cubed melon,or a bowl of cereal for lunch with skimmed milk and blueberries then a normal dinner and I never eat after 6pm  :)

I graze, have done for years  ::) so that I don't get suddenly hungry which leads to picking at too much 'nice' stuff  ;D

MayB write out what U eat for 3 days/nights then adjust as necessary?
