Been on HRT 2+ years patches and utro days 15-26. I suffer so much the week leading up to the bleed, migraine, crippling fatigue, feeling very panicky and low.
What I wondered is there anyway of taking a progesterone like the mini pill Cerazette that would stop you having a bleed ? Not keen on having the merina coil. 🤔

Ocallagd, thanks for your reply. I'm not keen on having the coil fitted 😞 I was thinking of.either progesterone tablets or the injection that lasts 3 months, but I'm not sure if you can take them along side HRT 🤔 x

Hi lillith
Aere you post-meno? If so then yes there are progesterone tablets that can be taken continuously. Provera. Listed here: https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/to_progestogens.php
If you are peri-menopausal then theoretically not, though some doctors or specialists do prescribe double dose mini-pills off-licence for HRT.

Hi I am 52, peri and still having fairly regular periods. I recently saw a menopause consultant to discuss whether HRT would help my worsening hormonal migraines and, after listening to how the migraines were affecting my life, she advised that I suppress my cycle altogether and recommended the mirena coil. Like you, I wasn't keen on that idea so asked if it was possible to take continuous progesterone instead and she said absolutely. She did warn me that there may be a risk of breakthrough bleeding but I was very happy to take that if it meant the end of migraines!
She prescribed Oestrogel and Utrogestan 100mg daily. Now I'm 5 weeks in so I know it's still early days, but my migraines have lifted completely - my head has never felt better. I just wish I'd tried it earlier!
