Hey Guys,
I am 3 years post full hysterectomy.. so 3 years into menopause.. I am 39 years old.
My question is, do any of you feel like menopause has changed you? Changes your personality??
I honestly feel like a completely different person...I don't know if that meant my hormoanes controlled me a lot or what... But I definitely ma not the person I was before menopause

Ummm... I don't know lol.. I'm Def calmer than I was.. but also I don't seem to have many emotions and just feel a bit blah.. if that makes sense.
I had such a high sex drive and have absolutely nothing now... I used to cry a couple of times a week and haven't had a tear since May... I miss feeling things...

As you had a full hysterectomy and oophorectomy at a young age you really should have been offered testosterone as well as replacement HRT. I think we mentioned this before on your low sex drive thread? You have lost a lot of your natural testosterone supply. Did a consultant explain this to you? They really should but not all do.

The hospital sent me home without HRT 🙈 I had to call them a few days after and they gave me some and it took a good couple of years for me to get the right amount.
When I call Dr and explain how I feel they just suggest upping my amount of HRT and even say they are doing more than should for me as I'm on over 100mg...
Nothing has ever been explained to me by my doctor's... I always just get it's normal because of my age.. even when I was suicidal they said it was normal!!! I get most of my info from here...
How do I get to see a menopause specialist???

You will need to gather as much info as you can about the importance of testosterone for younger women in surgical menopause so that your GP understands that you should be referred. Have a look at this linkhttp://www.surgicalmenopause.co.uk/interview-ln.html

Ask your GP for a referral to a dedicated NHS menopause clinic - not a gynae.

I done this about my dry Vagina issues and they came back to me and just gave me advice they got from them??
I will try again though

Is this not a normal thing for menopause?? I just don't know what I can blame on menopause and what I can't lol

Did you look at the link I posted? You have been dragged into post menopause at a young age. You're replacing the oestrogen with HRT but you have been denied the testosterone. Even when we are post menopause the ovaries continue to secrete some oestrogen and testosterone. It might be normal for post menopause but it's not normal for your age and it's a shame you are missing out on sexual happiness and proper energy levels.

Hey Taz,
I haven't looked yet but I definitely will.. thank you... I'm going to contact my Dr and ask to be refereed as I have so many questions still and feel like my drs can't answer these.
I mean before I went through this myself, I had little to no understanding of what menopause was... It's so scary that something half the population will go through is so under talked about. But on the same hand, even if I knew what to expect it would still be horrible.
One thing for sure menopause has most definitely aged me

You have not had the usual slow slide into menopause but lost your hormones in one fell swoop so this is very drastic. Menopause can be hard enough for some but surgical menopause can really take its toll. It gets me really annoyed that consultants don't take the time to explain what will happen when ovaries are removed.
Gather as much info as you can before you talk to the GP.
