Hello all,
My perimenopausal symptoms are made much, much worse when I ovulate, (I know my body well!) My specialist wants me to increase my estrogen dose to 150mg to inhibit ovulation. I have a Mirena coil fitted and have been reassured that this will oppose the high levels of estrogen that I have been prescribed. Just wondering if anyone else has a high dose for this reason and if so what dose do you take? Has it helped?
I have tried other methods such as birth control pills to stop ovulation but they increase symptoms such as flushes and joint pain.

A loss of oestrogen may cause aches and pains ....... because muscles become lax. Also the body may dry: inside and out. Which causes its own problems!
What type of specialist? How long do the symptoms of ovulation last :-\ - I was never aware at all. ::)

I am seeing a specialist at Newson Health. When I ovulate I get one sided sharp pains in my pelvic area for a few hours or so. I then have a dragging sensation for a few days afterwards. I also get anxiety around this time too. Ovulation doesn’t happen regularly anymore but I know about it when I do and my PMT is always so much worse.

I had those ovulation pains throughout my fertile years together with really bad PMT. Very annoying.
