Title: Utrogestan and Oestrogel Newbie
Post by: Fiona1968 on January 11, 2023, 04:52:29 PM
Hi

I am new to the forum and to HRT but have found it so interesting to read about other ladies experiences.

I am 54, post menopausal and have been prescribed on a continuous daily regime 100mg Utrogestan and one pump (initially) of Oestrogel.

Is it okay to alternate with 100mg Utrogestan orally one day and 100mg Utrogestan vaginally on the next day to reduce side effects? I have only been taking it vaginally for a week but I am getting all day bloating and abdominal pain which I’m hoping settles down over the next few weeks. GP explained I need to give it 3 months.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Fi

Welcome. I HATE that bloating  >:( if affected me for many years whilst I had regular periods.

Hopefully someone will be along!
