i was just wondering if post meno ladies on hrt can get estrogen dominance.
how do you know if you are as i understand estrogen blood tests over 45yrs are unreliable so how therefore do you know x

It's possible to have too much oestrogen. Once you're meno and don't have your own peaks and troughs I thought testing could be useful? Though there are still fluctuations for a time after you stop having bleeds. Perhaps try reducing and see what happens?

thanks sheila99.
i had bloods done a few weeks ago. thry were taken 2hrs after id put my gel on and they were 267. x

Yes as the dominance is about the ratio being off so it can happen at any age. I would test more with correcting it than blood tests, as it's hard to know what the ideal ratio would be.

thanks dangermouse.
sorry what do you mean test more with correcting it xxx

Sorry I want clear, to take progesterone or DIM, for example, to counter the dominance and then see if you feel better.

ah i take utrogestan vaginally every night xxxx

That may not be enough against the 4 pumps of gel. The other way to bring it into better balance would be to decrease the oestrogen dose.
