Merry Christmas 🎄 ladies sorry to ask tonight but does anyone get severe lower back pain ? Been sore for a few weeks but today is really sore and I’m not getting much relief with pain killers. It is better when I am lying down so assume it’s muscular any thoughts ?

Morning.
How is your mattress? Your foot wear? Your sitting position, all can impact on the spine all the way from coccyx to the skull.
What type of pain; low ache, stabbing, constantly hurting .......... when my sciatica nerve is hurting I take 2 Nurofen and go for a brisk walk.

I have problems with my right sacroiliac joint. Very very severe pain. The most recent bout started two weeks ago.
GP and physio suggested:
- Ibuprofen gel rubbed over sore area.
- Exercises to stretch the SIJ area - the following link has some really good ones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUVY4CpI7vI - Piriformis stretches - gently.
What has really helped me is an elasticated lumbar support belt. I had been finding it horribly painful to stand up, the support belt helps ever so much.

Hi ladies much appreciated I actually went for a good walk this morning and it’s definitely less painful when I’m moving now having a hot bath 👍 will look at the recommendations for stretching thanks again

We're at an age when we no longer get away with poor posture so perhaps consider how you sit etc, lots of info online. Being reasonably fit helps too as muscle tone may not be as it once was. If you can't find an obvious cause you could try a physio.
