Post by: discogirl on December 14, 2022, 06:31:12 PM
i recently had my estrogen levels checked.

they were 267pmo/l.

what i dont understand is that it says that 'normal' levels for post meno wimen are between 0 to 30

That’s normal for post menopausal women who are not on hrt. x

No not too high. I think the guidance is that levels should be between 400 - 600 on hrt. But levels should be whatever you need to be symptom free. For that reason levels are pointless. x

I just wanted to share mine - 91 pmol! I’m shocked - so obviously wasn’t absorbing the gel at all.

So patches it is for me and I hope that I do absorb something from them. I know I need to go slow and steady to start to build my reserves up.

Hi Discogirl,

I've had two tests for oestrogen levels. One in January 2021, after 12 months without a period, and one at the beginning of this year.  The first one was 586 pmol and the 2nd one 29 pmol.  There was a huge drop in the space of a year!  I couldn't understand why it was still so high after 12 months without a period because I've never been on HRT.

Sometimes these things don't make sense at all.

That's because it's a gradual decline and the ovaries continue to do 'something' for some time after bleeds stop
