Hi lovely ladies
Hope you’re all feeling well this evening.
I’ve noticed recently that political considerations and viewpoints have become a feature in a few threads.
This rather saddens me. I believe this wonderful forum is so much more than that and we are doing ourselves a disfavour by going too far in this direction.
Menopause is such a difficult experience, so I for one think we’re better off by supporting each other in what ever way we can, as the majority of us already strive to do.
Be that, by welcoming new members, offering a sympathetic ear, sharing personal experiences and also the academics amongst us who study the unfortunately minimal research available and report back as best they can.
We’re all amazing, so let’s not forget this!

Surely the fact that sometimes HRT becomes unavailable becomes political? As does the lack of support from the government and some GPs?
-
Yes CLKD, I entirely agree it is political in every respect.
But, is that what we want from MM?
There are many many forums that this can be discussed with regards to politics, but do we want that here?
I certainly don’t, but I acknowledge that others might vehemently disagree.

I have found recent political comments interesting.
No arguments ensued or anyone reported to the moderator whereby someone might get a warning or be thrown off the forum.
Sometimes it can put a members menopausal struggles in context.

After many years on this forum, I have learned not to get involved with threads that I...A have strong opinions about or B have no opinion about lol as yes Marchlove, you are right, sometimes it can get out of hand and that's when the moderators step in,I think the majority of us on here are able to talk politics without breaking the internet ;D .......just about, stay warm ladies xx

On another forum I belong to the Admin asked if it would be a good idea to bring back political discussions (I assumed it was once allowed) and the overwhelming result was a big NO from the members.
It’s an artists forum and they didn’t want the toxicity that political discussion inevitably brings to a forum, it always gets out of hand simply because of the nature of it.
