Relatively happy on HRT patches and cyclical Utrogestan but the periods were getting unbearable, clots, flooding , cramps. I’m 52.
GP sent me for a scan, a small fibroid, nothing to worry about.
Then sent to a gynaecologist- weight loss will help ( thanks! ) but a Mirena is your best option.
I had one fitted and it lasted a week! Came out with a clot! Uggh!
So now what? GP have prescribed Provera instead of Utrogestan to give me a break and referred me to gynaecology again for more tests. The dreaded 2 week wait!
I feel ok, just massively inconvenienced by the periods.
Does my tale of woe rings any bells? Any suggestions if things I can discuss with the medics?
Thanks everyone!

Bugga ...... at This Time of Year!
MayB put 'mirena coil' into the search box?
-
I did have a quick search but there are lots of posts and nothing I spotted quite like mine.
I was looking for alternatives to ease or stop the bleeding

Hi
I have had the mirena coil for many years and the bleeding will settle down
Previously I had no bleeding with it but my new coil took months to settle
I was told at the hospital it a new brand the nhs are trying so that maybe the reason
