Title: A Mirena will stop the bleeding? Not if it falls out! Now what?
Post by: Waitykaty on December 08, 2022, 07:48:10 PM
Relatively happy on HRT patches and cyclical Utrogestan but the periods were getting unbearable, clots, flooding , cramps. I’m 52.
GP sent me for a scan, a small fibroid, nothing to worry about.
Then sent to a gynaecologist- weight loss will help ( thanks! ) but a Mirena is your best option.

I had one fitted and it lasted a week! Came out with a clot! Uggh!

So now what? GP have prescribed Provera instead of Utrogestan to give me a break and referred me to gynaecology again for more tests. The dreaded 2 week wait!
I feel ok, just massively inconvenienced by the periods.

Does my tale of woe rings any bells?  Any suggestions if things I can discuss with the medics?

Thanks everyone!

Are they going to remove the fibroid?

I have posted twice. Sorry

The fibroid is apparently too small to worry about.
