Had fatigue and foggy brain for last two years then palpitations began year ago. Always been a bit of a worry guts but anxiety and low mood last three months has been chronic. Also get ovary pain on and off for months and bone pain feel bloated, gas and no appetite now feel sick after big meals and sleep is awful waking up 3am in middle of panic attack for the last 3 months. Lots going on with in laws and changes at work had tipped me over the edge burst into tears and rang gp desperate. Now prescribed oestragel and utrogestan praying will help my anxiety as feel as though I am breaking. Diagnosised with adenomyosis 2 years ago despite having symptoms since teenager was fobbed off for years with the pill. Hoping others have been through similar and if anyone can recommend anything for anxiety.

Hi Tigger. Have you been given advice about how HRT may affect your adenomyosis? I think the usual thing is to have the Mirena coil for the progesterone element. Have you been offered this? I've had a quick search of the forum and there is info about experiences of adenomyosis in this thread. https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,39461.0.html
Also, have you had your Vit D level checked recently as low levels can cause anxiety (I've just found this out having discovered mine is low). It can also upset digestion along with causing low mood/depression so it's worth checking out.
There is lots of help, support and friendship on here.

Anxiety is the pits :(. Appropriate medication can ease symptoms, some require HRT as well.
Browse round. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you so much for your kind words of support disco girl, Taz and CLKD, I was told by previous GP my vit D a year ago was low went as been getting palpitations and bone ache but they never mentioned perimenopause just take supplements and sent me on my way. Only this year with all other symptoms another gp finally offered HRT when I said could I be on the change. I am 48. Now you mention still think my vit D is on low side so I will investigate best supplement to take. My periods over last few months have been erratic used to timing my watch by them. I did try coil about 7 years ago but spotted all the time stuck at it for a year. Gp said does sound likely anxiety is lack of estrogen and suggested working towards 4 pumps and the utrogestan should hopefully stop damage to womb lining but I will definitely check out the link to the adonomyosis and do some more research. I have just been recommended bachs remedy too positivity and balance which contains l theanine to help anxiety and mood. Thank you so much ladies hopefully this is first step to getting my old self back. Xxxx

Make sure that the VitD capsule you choose has enough active ingredient. Ca't find my packet but it was quite high to be taken daily.
Blood tests are reliably unreliable.

Hi Tigger,
I wanted to send you a positive message: in Sept/Oct I had horrendous anxiety/blues, also nausea, palpitations and night sweats (to the point of finding it hard to function) and after 5 days of oestrogen gel the symptoms radically improved (no more nausea, anxiety, blues, less intense night sweats).
So, fingers crossed the HRT helps you quickly!
I also have adenomyosis and can't handle the coil (gives me contractions). I'm on Cerazette, a POP, that will probably mean something to you. Are you on the pill? I had to take a break from the pill last week to get the FSH/estradiol blood test (am not post menopause, sadly as it would make HRT treatment eaiser) and I was in quite a lot of pain from the adenomyosis, so ironically am relieved to be back on it again.
Let us know how you get on. This forum is a real lifesaver, you'll find lots of support here.

Yes CLKD I just always assumed blood tests are definitive but even gp admitted not exact science which shocked me I am now taking 1000mg 25ug and someone said take with milk. Thank you so much Keep on Swimming for your lovely message I thought I was going mad so reassuring to know others understand and know what been going through esp with anxiety you start to question your sanity. I've always had horrendous monthly cramps and dosed myself up. The coil caused more problems than it was worth and I had stomach pain problems like you which is why in the end I had to have it removed. I'll ask about Cezzette got feeling taken in the past not on pill currently I had to have a break also. I do find low gluten diet helps a bit with cramps doesn't cure but do seem not quite as intense as it normally comes on in waves until contractions and womb radiates pain become so intense i feel nausea. Now day 3 taking pump so fingers crossed.

Hi all quick update so estradiol has definitely been helping esp during the day, does wear off at night so may consider patches for continuous dose. Started taking the utrogestan few days ago (period began) felt okay first off and sleeping well front end but yesterday and today bit anxious again but still early days and I am on at the moment so will continue and if needs be will ask gp for review of utrogestan. Hope you all have a lovely Xmas. :)
