Title: Quick hormone lesson!
Post by: Keep On Swimming on November 21, 2022, 12:38:50 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm still very new to the whole HRT thing and I'm trying to get my head around it all. Could someone please give me a quick explanation about the different hormones we lose/need as we enter premenopause + menopause? I understand we produce less estrogen and progesterone but where does testosterone come in and how do I know if I need it?

Many thanks!

It's as clear as mud sometimes  ::)

As oestrogen levels drop the body may become dry: inside and out; skin, vagina, between the toes, scalp, deep in the ears, nostrils ...... as well as muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Hopefully some1 will be along to explain how progesterone and testosterone levels alter.

Thanks CKLD!

I think my regime is right (progesterone-only pill + estrogen gel) but the UK is miles ahead of France so I want to be sure I understand everything properly.
