Title: Oestrogen 28/utrogestan 14. When am I supposed to bleed?

I’m so sorry but I can’t find the answer to my question anywhere! I’m on day 43 of this new regime, in peri, and haven’t bled yet? 2 pumps oestrogen x28, and 14 x 200mg utrogestan.  Please can anyone tell me when I can expect to bleed? I’m 53 and previous to HRT had quite regular periods. Thanks all!

I think it normally happens after you’ve finished the Utrogestan x

Thanks Dotty! Clearly some settling in going on here! 🤣. Approaching the end of month 2 on it, so we’ll see! Or not! I wonder if my periods were naturally stopping what would happen? They should be soon, I’m 53 and sick of them! 😫🙄

Hi not everyone bleeds on a sequential regime. I think the statistics are 80% have a bleed but I’m not totally sure on that .

What were your periods like before hrt ? x

Thank you. I will be seeing/speaking to doc to get next 3 months supply so will ask her too. My periods were really heavy and nasty for about 3 days every month. She also suggested Mirena, but I feel like I don’t want anything put inside me at this stage… silly, or does that make sense? I’ve got my fingers crossed that my periods will stop soon!! After 41 years I’ve had enough! What about you?

I've never fancied a Mirena either but lots of ladies  like them.

Were your periods regular, every month before hrt? x

I'm wondering why you are only taking oestrogen for 28 days? It should be every day.

Yes, every day. 28 days in a month.

Yes, pretty much, but did go a bit longer/shorter in the last few months. That’s when I was hoping they would stop! 😫🙄

While you are on a sequential HRT then it's usual to have a withdrawal bleed. This isn't a proper period so actually your natural periods may have stopped. As Dotty says some women don't bleed on a sequential regime but it might be that your doctor will want you to have a scan to check your womb lining isn't building up.
