Oh my days! Have now swapped from the 75 patch, to 2 femeston conti tablets. Not a scooby doo what that dose is in comparison, but I feel wretched!
Tossing and turning all night, feeling of despair and doom, palpitations etc etc. I just want to stay in my bed 🛌
The thought of working another 7 week half term, fills me with dread quite honestly!
I have no clue what type of hrt or dose any longer. Nothing seems to level me out properly ☹️
Feeling quite irritable and irritated. Or is that just life?

It’s hard to say what the dose equivalent is but if you e taken two tablets then that’s 2mg of oestrogen which is less than the 75 patch.
You’ve also doubled the amount of progesterone by taking two tablets.
Could be that that’s making you feel as you do. x

Maybe it is Dotty. I’ve also got a coil fitted. I thought the 2mg tablets equated to the 75 patch?
Think I will go back to my patch and testosterone and see how it goes again.
No HRT regime makes feel great, but with work on Monday, I need to be stable. X

Page 3 gives you equivalent doses.
A 75 patch is roughly equivalent to 3mg of oral oestrogen.

Why do you need so much progesterone if you have the Mirena? Doesn't it give enough protection? Mind you I'm easily confused ;D

I don’t need the progesterone, that’s the thing. Was just finding symptoms slipping back on the patch, the gel I despise and thought the tablets might be better?
Will revert back to patch and keep with the testosterone I think 🙏

Sorry to sound a bit of a numbskull, why do women need/take testosterone, is it just to help with libido?
(sorry if i sound ignorant) x
-
It’s meant to help with energy, brain function and libido apparently, disco. Only licensed for libido though.
Women lose all 3 hormones during menopause, including testosterone x
-
Nas…if you want to try tablets why not try an oestrogen only tablet ?
-
Discogirl….testosterone is for libido, muscle strength, energy as Nas says x

Hello ladies.
Nas - I am so sorry that you are struggling and I don't blame you for trying everything you can to help yourself.
For some reason I can't work the link that Dotty posted so my question is probably a stupid one but I thought the patches were in micrograms ie 75 mcg which is less than milligrams which is provided by the tablets.
I say this because I am halving a 1mg Sandrena sachet and I assume that leaves me with two 50mcg doses. I then use one of these halves every day.
Please forgive me if I am talking rubbish and have that all wrong ladies!
Wishing you all well.

Kathleen … yes you are right that a patch is 75mcg, but equivalent dosages take into account the way that oestrogen gets into the body so it’s not a like for like comparison.
Half a sachet of Sandrena is roughly equivalent to a 25 patch.
I’m not sure why you can’t open the attachment. It works fine for me.

Hi Kathleen,
I always assumed that 1 sachet of sandrena, equated to 2 pumps of oestrogel or a 50 patch? That said, sandrena I think is fairly strong, so I don’t know when it comes to comparisons!
Also, you have to consider absorption rates I think
too.
The 2 tablets probably won’t be enough anyway, if it is only the equivalent of a 50 patch. This explains why I felt so rubbish towards the end of the 3 months on the 1mg earlier in the year!
Can you open that link Kathleen? I can if I click on it
( thanks Dotty) xx
-
Hello again Nas
There are two types of Sandrena gel, a 1mg sachet and a 0.5mg one. I was prescribed the 1mg ones and I have gradually reduced from three whole sachets a day to half of one a day. My regime is all a bit do it yourself until I can speak to my NHS consultant.
I see from your earlier post that you plan to return to the patch and carry on with the testosterone and I wish you luck with that.
I think I did something wrong when trying to open the link so I will give it another go.
Wishing you well and take care.

Ah thanks for that Nas; and aren't us ladies the lucky ones, losing not just one hormone, but all three!!!!
Are you post meno Nas by the way x
-
Hi disco,
Yes I’m post meno. Thinking about it, I feel different compared to how I was in peri ( which I didn’t know was peri!!)
I didn’t know women lost all 3 hormones either!
Gradually I’m getting my head round the new phase of life, but dear god, it’s tough! Xx
