Title: Vegifem feels like it will on go in 2/3rd !!!
Post by: Dane34 on October 13, 2022, 10:47:28 PM
Sorry ladies but I’m sure you’ve heard worse.

I’ve started the vegifem again tonight as I’ve got an irritating feeling inside, I can’t describe it thou 🤔
It’s not itching, swollen or anything like that

So I went to insert it tonight and I can’t get it in properly at least nearly an inch is still sticking out?
I’ve not been sexually active for 4/5 years
So does it get smaller inside with no use ?
I feel if pessary isn’t getting to the top it won’t work as it should ?

I feel discomfort in my stomach now

You dont need to insert the whole applicator, just insert as far as it's comfortable. I usually insert in different places each night so it reaches all areas high and low.

Some require application every night.

MayB cut the capsule thingy and use the finger, as far up as is comfy.  The vaginal walls can get narrower if not used ;-) which is where VA treatments help to keep the area healthy.

I am unable to insert any pessary without lubricant. I am very narrow there and perhaps you are too.

It's my muscles up there that get in my way, and I sometimes have difficulty inserting the pessary and use my Sylk moisturiser to shove it up into a more comfortable position. The pessary doesn't have to go high up, just enough to be comfortable as you want it to seep down into the outside area.

If Vagifem isn't suiting, you could try Ovestin instead.

I believe the leaflet says 5 cm. but less is fine if it is more comfortable.  My GP told me lower is actually better.  I too have trouble inserting so use a tiny amount of estrogen cream on applicator to help.  I'm like Ayesha.  Muscles too tight.

Don't worry it doesn't have to go high up just go as high as its comfortable xx
