I was prescribed this last week as I have very high stress at the moment and have awful adrenaline surges. Tightness in chest and generally feel so anxious. I took one about 6pm last night, and I was watching out to see if I felt better, but it didn't really calm me down, and tightness was still there. It was only 10mg - maybe I need more? I didn't want to take more at that time as I read it can affect sleep.
I feel very anxious today (unexpected bills) but feel too nervous to take it incase it doesn't work and then what!
I'm sure my O is low too - very warm and sweaty.

It seems you are on the lowest dose judging by this:
Propranolol tablets come in strengths of 10mg, 40mg, 80mg or 160mg. The slow release capsules are 80mg or 160mg. The liquid comes in strengths of 5mg, 10mg, 40mg or 50mg in 5ml.
anxiety – 40mg taken once a day which can be increased to 40mg taken 3 times a day
It looks like you can increase it as your dose does not sound enough for anxiety.

OK thanks, that's interesting. I just hope the higher dose doesn't affect sleep.

I hope it does not either. Maybe if the anxiety lessens then you will have a better sleep.

My neighbour is hyper with it, whereas I had no problems at all: no weight gain, no alteration in mood or sleep pattern.
Initially I was on 80mg 3 times a day for 3 months; then 40mg twice a day and after 3 months 40mg at night. Then down to 20mg. There are options if you find this makes you agitated.
