Hi there, has anyone on here been prescribed provera while on holiday to delay a period? Ive just been prescribed this im on everol75 and utrogestan just a bit concerned about taking the utrogestan and provera as they’re both progesterone, grateful for any advice :-\

Ellie I did this a few months ago. GP( Newson) told me to stop taking utrogestan on the days that I was taking the Provera. I started the Provera three days before my holiday and continued for my week away. Then resumed utrogestan when Provera was finished. I just couldn’t rely on utrogestan to control bleeding and it would have spoiled my holiday somewhat, so switching to Provera was the solution. I had 10 mg three times a day.

Hi florrie my gp has advised to continue taking the utrogestan on my normal days I would take them and 1 10mg provera for 3 days before I go away 1 daily for the 2
Weeks I am away but seeing your reply I don’t know what to do now :-\ thanks for the reply

Oh, I was on a continuous regime of daily utrogestan. Also, my Provera course was for a shorter period ( only ten days in total), and was 10 mg three times a day. So, what your GP says makes sense and doesn’t sound like too much progesterone, just from two sources, I suppose. You could speak to your pharmacist?

I didn’t realise that your GP had given you specific advice.

Yes I will be taking the utrogesran plus provera for 6 days in total so when u think of it like that I suppose it’s not too much , I start my utrogestan the 29th so I may just leave the provera till I’m going away which is the 4th Oct at least then if I have any period it’ll at least be lighter or shorter lived that’s my theory haha :P
