Hey fellow members, I'm nearly 2 years post menopause and am still trying to hit the sweet spot for HRT. After failing at my GPs I went private in July '22 and am 2 months into a continuous Evorel / Utrogestan combo. Started slow with half a 25mg patch and have worked up to 1 and a half patches (with a view to hitting 50mg in the next couple of weeks).
Thankfully, the hot flushes have left home for good 👍🏼 My mood seems lighter 👍🏼 My achey, puffy ankles are still causing me grief 👎🏼 and I've put on at least 100st (give or take a few pounds) 👎🏼
My main issue now are my seriously sore, large boobs 🍈🍈 Just the slightest brush of a pen as I place it in my breast pocket and I wince in pain. My nipples are like champagne corks and itch to buggery!
Firstly, will this ease off as my body gets used to the regime and secondly, can anyone offer any advice on soothing these puppies? (I did try the cold lettuce leaf in the bra thing...but it didn't do a thing. It was that posh lettuce though, and the leaves were pretty tiny)
Thank you in anticipation 😊

Hello IrishSam. When mine hurt I take paracetamol. Can you get a softer bra? That can help too as you do not want anything too supportive when they are sore. I am sorry you are in pain and I hope it passes soon.

Hormones >:(. If you drop the half patch for a couple of nights, mayB that will tell you if it's the extra hormone?
85% of women wear the wrong sized bra ;-). Pain relief?

Ibuprofen or any anti inflammatory might help too. You can take it at the same time as paracetamol if you feel you need to.

Hellooooo Irishsam.
I know it’s not funny, my god, I have sore boobs sometimes, ( which I take paracetamol for) but you did make me chuckle. Just your wording. ;D
We need you on the This n That thread. 👍
What’s Posh lettuce? ;D ….was it wrapped in gold or summat?
Anyway, just try paracetamol, and put your pen somewhere else. ;D
Good luck.
Xx

Hopefully the lettuce was shaken well ? I think that ice blocks would be too chilly :-\ applied directly.

Oh I too had the sore boobs and my nipples used to enter a room before I did, very endearing as a 20 something but not on a woman in her mid 50s anyway,it only lasted a few months and eventually they subsided, now they they just hand there like two old deflated balloons, sorry, like Jill says, not funny when you're experiencing it but we all need to laugh, hope they deflate soon x

Oh IrishSam you do make me chuckle!
It should be cabbage leaves not lettuce leaves!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thank you ladies for your advice 😊.
So cabbage eh? I shall purchase a Savoy and see if that helps.
In the meantime, Paracetamol has helped.
As for bras, I've literally resorted to wearing those little cropped things...no wire, no padding, no support whatsoever, but they are comfortable. I just wouldn't go trampolining whilst wearing one. 😬

I think lettuce leaves should have worked too - both lettuce and cabbage have anti inflammatory properties (which is why I suggested ibuprofen).
Glad paracetamol has helped and maybe lay off the trampolining. And any yoga that involves being upside down.

Oh yes, I forgot about those comfy bras, that’s what I wore too.
Mine are in the back of the drawer now, must find them out. ;D
Just don’t go by any rabbits whilst wearing the lettuce or cabbage leaves. ;D 🐰
