I turned 50 last year and felt fabulous. But from June this year I've started with hot flushes & night sweats which are really starting to ramp up. At the same time I've also noticed really stiff ankles and knees. I work out twice a week, not overweight and walk a lot - really frustrated with the stiff joints anfd feel I've gone from 50 to 100 yrs old in a couple of months. I've an appointment to talk to my Doc re HRT. But I've only had a handful of light periods over the last year. Can I take a type of HRT + progesterone which won't bring back a monthly bleed?

Hello NDavies. Welcome to the forum. The Mirena can be used as the progesterone part of HRT and does not cause a bleed. I hope the appointment with your DR goes well.

Welcome. As oestrogen levels drop muscles may become lax = aches and pains. Oestrogen is our 'elastic' ;-)
