Hi ladies. Anyone changed from Evorel to Estradot patches, my specialist has changed it as she said she has been having more ladies absorbing it better than Everol? Worth a try to get my anxiety under control!
-
I tried it but soon switched back to evorel as I didn’t like it. We are all different in our biochemistry though, hopefully you’ll get on with it x
-
Hated estradot with a passion.
Makes me irritable and bloated.
-
Thanks Nas🙈 got to give it a try and hopefully won’t be like that for me 🤞
-
Fingers crossed Flan. We are all different when it comes to these oestrogen products, so this could be the one for you! :)
-
Thanks Nas and yes aren’t we just I’ve tried so many this is my last shot at it if I’m honest x
-
What dose patch will you be on? Absorption is meant to be better on the Estradot ( so I’ve heard?) x
-
Starting on 100 and up to 150 if needed x
-
I'm almost certain I absorb more estradiol on Evorel than Estradot - I used the latter for years, but interestingly I think I have more womb lining build up on Evorel (indicating greater absorption - scan also showed this), ie heavier bleeds and I've had to reduce cycle length accordingly. Do I imagine I have more energy with the Evorel? Maybe! The Estradot are very small but as such I found in hot weather they tended to slide about a bit....
Hurdity x
-
Due to supply issues I've been switching between both for the past few months. I find estradot easier to stick on, but other than that I've not really noticed a difference in my symptoms from one or the other.
-
Thanks ladies! I use Tegaderm over the top of my patches so hoping the are good with the Estradot? Should receive them Monday. I’ve increased my Evorel to 100 today and have the most horrendous headache which I can’t shift, the anxiety appears to have shifted a bit 🤞 x
-
I am happy with Estradot - switched from Sandrena. It sticks very well, it's small and I have not noticed any side effects.
-
Stella 2, I've tried Everol 50 but doesn't seem to suit me - next trying Sandrena - did you not get on with it? Thank you.
-
Morning ladies. So I haven’t received my Estradot yet but I did increase my Evorel to 100 from 75 and I feel awful yesterday I had the most horrendous headache all day and today I’ve woken with a slight headache but awful low mood and anxiety! I know I need to wait a few weeks but was wondering would you say it’s the increase or could it be I’m not absorbing, symptoms appear to be low estrogen. I’m tempted to add some gel as a rip up? Any suggestions welcomed x
-
Ange 63, Sandrena was fine but I started feeling a bit hot early morning so GP suggested that a patch could be a better solution.
Sorry to hear you are feeling like that Flan747. I am unsure if you need to increase, I hope you will get responses from ladies who know more about it.
-
Stella 63 - thank you. I started Sandrena yesterday and oddly I got a hot flush early hours this morning which is not usual (haven't slept a wink anyway such a bad night but not putting that down to Sandrena just yet as have been going thru bad patch). Forgot the PV progesterone!!! so try that tonight and prey helps sleep. x

Morning ladies. Quick question, is it possible to cut the tiny Estradot into quarters to get 25 dose? It looks like it will be tiny and I’m worried the absorption will be poor this way? I do have some gel so thinking one pump maybe easier? Not ready to go up just yet but getting prepared x
-
You could try cutting the Estradot Flan, but the 25 piece would be tiny, as you say.
Did you mean you were going to add a pump of gel to the 75 patch? That’s worth trying I’d say.
I’m in a similar boat. 75 patch doing very little these days. I’ve requested 100, but am skeptical. It’s a god awful mess in truth.
Good luck Flan x
-
Thanks Nas! No I’m on 100 but have been advised if symptoms persist which they bloody well do🙈 go up to 125 then 150 if needed so I thought I may try a pump of gel! It’s a rollercoaster Nas that’s for sure! How long have you been on the 75? My last symptom and most awful one is anxiety it just wont shift! Starting a health kick Monday to see if that helps xx
-
I tried Sandrena gel for 6 days - but got a very hot feeling and face felt flushed... now have more hot flushes than before. it didn't help anything either.... stopped using it. Back to the drawing board.......

Hi ladies
Flan 747, how lucky you are to have a choice to increase your hurt dose, are you seeing a meno clinic I guess you are as my docs won’t prescribe anything above 100micro of estrodot patches for me and despite asking four times now to be referred to a clinic it has been brushed under the carpet, making me add extra gel myself to keep me feeling on an even keel so to speak, not sure what I’m going to do when I run out.

Hey Flan,
I have been on the evorel 75 for a good 2 years now (give or take 3 months on femeston conti 1/5 ).
I think anything is worth a try, but do it slowly. I don't think the body likes too much of an increase all at once.
The trouble with estradot, is that they are so small, so hard to cut them down to any size I guess.
I tried adding a half sachet of sandrena to the 75, but that didn't do alot. I don't think the patches are being absorbed properly, that's the issue. I am now trying sandrena on its own (not holding out much hope for that either!)
Good luck with the health kick, I hope it works. x

Thank you ladies! Yes Smokey very lucky to be under a specialist who sends my consultation to my GP and then he prescribed the medication for me.
Nas they are tiny aren’t they? Just waiting for my blood test results before I do anything, I’ve had a more settled last few days so will see how the next few go? Think it will be easier to add some gel. I’ve had a few results yes back and I have low iron and B12 so maybe that’s contributing to symptoms? Once I have them all back I will email them to the specialist to see what she suggests x
