Title: Endometrial cancer rate in HRT users with postmeno bleeding
Post by: pepperminty on August 23, 2022, 04:47:56 PM
  FYI ladies ,

The chance of finding womb lining cancer is much lower in women on HRT referred for tests for post menopausal bleeding as compared to those not taking it. The study adds to existing evidence and emphasises importance of avoiding unnecessary interventions

Thank you so much for posting this Pepperminty  :)
So good to read.
I've got my knickers in a twist these last few weeks over these ongoing investigations for bleeding.
I've been very irrational at times even imagining the medical profession are doing this to us on purpose because we women dare to ask for hrt in the first place.
Daft I know but so not nice to go through.

Dear All,

this is great news. I should also add that my mother was yesterday diagnosed with endometrial cancer and we were worried HRT (she's 81 and still on HRT) was the culprit but the gynaecologist who broke us the news assured us they can tell whether the cancer cells are a result of hormonal therapy or not and in my mum's case they were not. It still makes for horrible news, but at least we were told.

While my brain spins reading stuff like this, because of the technical jargon, thank you for posting anyway.
I have had repeated bouts of bleeding. I still get a pale brown discharge, and sometimes it is tinged with red, or should I say pink, but I have not been back to my doctor.
The gynaecologist said any more bleeds and she would want another hysterocopy.

I think they are going to have to change the way they assess women on HRT with bleeding. Because with record numbers of women taking up HRT - which increases the risk of bleeding - they are going to have even more humongous waiting lists if they want to check everyone out.

The old system just isn't going to cope with the demand...

Hi Ladies,

thanks. We all tend to blame HRT sometimes for any symptoms, that we have - from small to concerning. But as anxiety rises in menopause that makes things really difficult x
