Title: Oestrogel/Utrogestan feel worse
Post by: Battyboo on August 23, 2022, 11:44:54 AM
Hello all,  I hope you can give me advice .
I'm post menopausal.
I started Gel 1 pump plus 100mg in June  , I initially felt better mood wise , but sweats were as bad so couple weeks ago upped  to 2 pumps of gel and 200mg Utrogestan as instructed by consultant.
I feel worse, grinding my teeth , anxious , very irritable  angry (wasn't before) no energy depressed .It was sons birthday and I couldn't enjoy any of it.Just want to sleep.
Bloated,  books very tender , classic pmt symptoms .
So what do I do , stop ? I can't get advise from the consultant as it was nhs and straight away took me of case list.
I can't live like this . :(

Hi if you take the Utrogestan continuously then you only need 100mg. x

Hi if you’re post menopausal then you take 100mg of Utrogestan every night. This dose is licensed for up to 4 pumps of Oestrogel.

The dosage for peri menopause is 200mg for 12 days of every month.

1 pump of Oestrogel is a very low dose so it could be that you need more oestrogen. x

I know I am late to this party but just need to offload............

I am perimenopausal and have had 5 weeks of Oestrogel (2 pumps every day)/Utrogestan (12 on, 12off) and I feel worse.  I can't focus, don't sleep well despite crashing fatigue, feel totally out of sorts and now depressed (not just low mood, I have crying spells and just want to stay in bed in a cocoon) and no interest in anything.

I just want to know that this is not completely abnormal and that it will get better.
