Title: Hrt and libido
Post by: Weeloz on August 22, 2022, 01:12:39 PM
I am on hrt patches and the gp said this would help my lack of sex drive . It has made no difference what so ever . Has it helped anyone else get their sex drive back or has it made no difference to you either

Hi - made no difference for me either  :(  Oestrogel plus vagifem for last 6 mths has made sex slightly more comfortable but has done nothing for libido. I read lots of info on testerone being the hormone for libido but my GP won't prescribe (or maybe can't) and I haven't yet asked for referral to meno specialist to get it.

Some find libido returns with oestrogen, others need testosterone. Very few gps will prescribe testosterone as there isn't a product available on the nhs licensed for women so usually you will need a referral to a menopause clinic.

My doctor increased the patch from 50 to 75 and I got my libido back in full! But now my breasts are tender :(
