Title: Browny loss on continuous HRT and Vagifem five days a week
Post by: sprocket on August 11, 2022, 06:15:10 PM
Hi,
Looking for some advice.
I use 2 pumps of Oestrogel along with 1 Utrogestan at bedtime.
Been on this for around a year or more.
I recently increased my vagifem from 4 to 5 times a week and have started to pass some brown ( old ) blood. Its very very light and just there when I wipe.
Any thoughts on whats causing it?
Appreciated.

Why did U feel it necessary to increase the Vagifem, if you were sore/itchy then it may be old blood from a small tear inside the vagina.  Have U had a lookC with a mirror?

I have moderate to severe vaginal atrophy, CKLD. 4 times a week of the Vagifem wasnt enough, before hense the increase.

Im just bouncing ideas off anyone qualified, hopefully.

I was wondering if perhaps Id had a drop in my own natural supply of progesterone thats caused this little bit of brown loss.

It *could* just be due to the increase in Vagifem although really local estrogen shouldn't cause that.

It's probably a good idea to go to the doctor and get referred for a scan.

Im just bouncing ideas off anyone qualified, hopefully..  Lots of advice from members who have suffered with atrophy.

Do read the 'bladder issues' thread as well as there are many subjects on vaginal atrophy, all written by sufferers ........... 4 me it was like razor blades  :( :o up there, 'ovestin' eased symptoms. within a few weeks.  Some require 'vagifem' nightly, for Life.  Perhaps use it every night for another 4-5 weeks to see if that helps?

Some use moisturisers on the outer labia.  I find KY jelly adequate; others use 'yes' or 'sylc' or Olive&Bee products.

Let us know how you get on.
