Title: Bleeding 8 months after pill.
Post by: Rae47 on August 08, 2022, 10:35:43 AM
Hello
I stopped taking the mini pill eight months ago aged 53, assumed I was well on my way to menopause when I experienced a very heavy bright red bleed for four days! Anyone else had similar issues and has the bleeding reoccurred?

Hi Rae. It sounds as if you are still in peri menopause. You might not get another period or they may become regular again. I was still having periods at 53. Sometimes they were two weeks apart then six months apart then back to two weeks!. Have you any other meno symptoms and did this bleed feel like a normal period i.e. did you have PMT or sore breasts etc leading up to it?

Age is not a good indicator of meno, some women aren't meno until their early 60s.
