I’m about to start patches which will be my 5th product in under a year. Oestrodose > Oestrogel > Lenzetto > Sandrena and now they’ve suggested I change again.
It’s a long back story but briefly Ostrodise was great on one pump, symptoms came back with Oestrogel; Lenzetto two sprays was good for a short while but increasing to 3 sent me crazy and 2 was not enough. Fast forward to April this year and Sandrena 0.5mg. Took a while to settle was ok for a few weeks then symptoms started to return so increased by v small amount but was sent to hell again, same as a Lenzetto increase.
Blood tests around 6 months ago mid cycle were 500. Last week early cycle we’re less than 98!! So specialist said I’m not absorbing Sandrena and should try a patch.
She’s suggested Estradot 50 cut in half.
My questions are:
- is there any reason to cut the 50 in half or should I just get the 25?
- I’m so worried I will react badly again to changing product that I’m thinking of starting at a quarter dose for a few days, has anyone had good or bad experiences starting or changing over to Estradot?
- I react to some sticker plaster and not others so concerned I’ll react to the patch glue
- if my oestrogen is so low is the Sandrena doing anything at all? Will starting the patch be like starting HRT all over again?
Any advice on the above would be great fully received.
Also on cyclical Utro vaginally which has been awful the last couple of months but I’m assuming that’s because my oestrogen levels have plummeted. I’m going to only do 100mg next cycle as the boils and PMt were horrendous - until my oestrogen levels rise again. Or stop it completely for a month. What do you think?

Omg I feel your pain I really do!! I was on Oestrogel for over 20 years then last year had to be swopped to Lenzetto - was on it for a year and it never really worked well for me - that then also became unavailable so I was put on Evorel patches they gave me the worst migraines ever - was then swopped to Estradot - they never suited me either plus I became allergic to the adhesive in the patches so was then swopped back on to Lenzetto - nightmare again and FINALLY this week Oestrogel is available so am back on that but having to work to get dosage right as my system has been so messed about :( I do hope you can level out soon. In my experience the patches were much stronger than Lenzetto if that's any help. Wishing you well xx

Trying to answer questions….
1) Yes. You get more for your money and more product 😂 Instead of 8 patches per box you’re getting 16!
2) Start low, wait at least a few weeks then increase if needed.
3) There are many different brands of patches and they all use diff adhesives so hopefully you can find one that suits.
4) Yes. To be on the safe side, assume it will be.

Thank you for answering. It turns out I may be Histamine Intolerant and so too much oestrogen and my body can’t cope so I’m going back to Lenzetto one spray whilst trying to figure out the histamine issue. What a nightmare it all is. Just want to be rid of the nausea and dizziness.

Dotty, I investigated histamine intolerance recently and wrote loads of posts. I f you search the forum for low histamine diet you’ll get it all up…
Dr Tina Peers is who you need to Google! Some good supplements you can take too.
