Title: Jan Leeming HRT
Post by: Pennyfarthing on August 02, 2022, 09:19:00 AM
Just been reading about former newsreader Jan Leeming who is now 80.  She was recently mugged in France and ended up on the ground with bruising and a cut arm.  She is convinced that HRT saved her as it prevents osteoporosis.   She has been on it for 40 years and reckons if she wasn’t, she could have suffered more serious injuries.

She looks really great for her age.

Last year I tripped over during my daily forest walk and landed heavily on my hand. Left it a couple of days but it was obviously not right so took myself off to our wonderful minor injuries unit. When I got in to see the doctor he asked what medication I was on. When I mentioned the HRT I said, defiantly, that I knew at 67 I maybe shouldn't be on it but it is something I won't give up. He said that before he called me in he looked at my admission notes and saw 'heavy fall on left hand. Aged 67' and was sure it would be a break but now he knew I was on HRT the outcome will probably be better. It was indeed badly bruised but no break. He said that in post menopausal women, in his experience, it really does make a difference to the outcome of falls.

Taz x

MayB Taz the Doctor should have done some dedicated Research ;-)?  There's a Thesis there.
