Hey ladies I know I’ve asked this before but I’m desperate to find someone who something similar!
So I’m a carrier of a balanced translocation between one of my X chromosomes and one of my 7s chromosomes which could results in my baby either having too much or too little genetic information and it would most likely result in either a miscarriage or a possibility that my baby having both significant developmental and health problems
Does anyone know if this can bring on early menopause I have all the sytmpoms of it and I have also done several menopause tests in which they have tested my FSH levels and they are all positive I’m just desperate to find someone who may have something similar

You have a couple of threads on the Forum, why begin another :-\

Hello Kady2022.
I am afraid that I can't help you with your query but have you considered emailing Dr Heather Currie who established Menopause Matters? She may have information or contacts that would be helpful to you. I understand that the emailing service costs £30 and is available through this site.
I hope you find the answers you are looking for and please let us know how you get on.
Wishing you well.
K.

Hi Kady, all FSH tests will be positive. You need to go to your GP and ask for FSH and estradiol blood tests. This will have to be repeated in 2 to 4 weeks. If estradiol is consistently low and FSH consistently high, you will be diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency and your GP will prescribe you HRT. The fact that you have a genetic translocation doesn't change that, but it is a good reason to perform the tests IF your GP is reluctant.

Kady might find out more, CLKD. Not everyone knows how to navigate the forum boards and posts get missed. ;)

Not if 1 keeps to one thread about a subject, that is why 'unread posts since last visit' is the button to press each time a member visits the Forum.
There is a danger of 'not again' so people stop reading.
I don't think that there will be many responses due to the complexity which you have pointed out.

CLKD - Kady is a comparatively new member on MM it might be nice not to bully her.
Are you a moderator on MM?

Be kind ? I can't get a reply as to why more than 1 thread on a topic is necessary.
It is becoming common across the Forum by many members, instead of continuing in a thread so that women can scan down to previous replies, after all - many of us suffer with memory problems due to hormonal upheaval.

That's exactly it CLKD - many of us can not remember what we have posted and where!

Hi again Kady, I hope you can sort it soon. I'm sure there are other woman out there with the same questions, balanced translocations are very common amongst cases of infertility. Maybe you will have more replies on forums like mumsnet. Keep us posted.

Hi Kady
Yes I think you’re right, you should rethink your search terms.
When I had a quick Google I put in specific words that you had used and quite a bit came up.

Kady, you can see here https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/pm-investigations.php (Menu on the left 'Menopause' > 'Premature Menopause') the clinical procedure for cases like yours. I'm sure you can tell your GP to do the same, if s/he is not familiar with premature menopause.

Hi Marchlove, thank you, you're very kind, but I'm not knowledgeable, I just know where to find reliable information. Let's hope Kady has managed to talk to her GP.
