Hi all is anyone on femseven patches and how do you get on with them . I came off everol Conti patches about 6weeks ago as had bleeding everything g was checked by gyno and all good . I decided to try and go without . My anxiety, moodiness, sleepless nights have came back . I phoned the gp and explained why I came off evorel Conti and she advised I try femseven patches and gave me a prescription for them . Does anyone else use these

I did a few years ago but gave up after a few months because of bleeding. Apparently it's normal on conti patches for the first six months. As I was only  trying them  to help with my VA and had no other symptoms I gave up and upped my local estrogen instead. Apart from the bleeding they were fine and much better than the oral tablet Femiston conti that caused awful PMT type moods previous to trying Femseven. The progesterone was much better for me in Femseven.

I tried them for 3 weeks, managed to get them to stick which surprised me and then i started to react to the adhesive so then went for another Mirena.

A bit late on this but I have only recently joined. I am on femseven patches (on week 9 now) and am spotting - bleeding most days. Not had periods for years so this has been a shock to the system. I have had an ultrasound scan and everything is ok thank goodness. I feel like I got thrown back into puberty with the ups and downs of it all (headaches, fluid retention, emotional moments). I know settling can take up to 6 months but would love to know that this is 'normal' and that it will be worth it in time. I have a review with my doctor soon so any help would be appreciated.  Thank you all for posting. It is good not to feel alone in this.

I had periods again on Femseven after years of being post meno, lasted a few months then went to random spotting. It's normal in the first six months but wise you have had it checked anyway. It should settle within 6 months and if you are starting to feel any improvement then give it a chance. I found the progesterone in Femseven much kinder than other HRT.

I currently take Femseven Conti and I am finding that I am sooo tired with palpitations and anxiety seems to be worse or at least no improvement but we are all different and react to each Hrt differently. I am on week 7 of the patches and so unsure about what to do next! The patches also cause irritation for me but I would put up with looking like a patchwork quilt if  they make a difference. I have tried oral Utrogestan and Oestrogel which caused sickness ,dizziness and blurred vision.

Hi Weeloz

I went onto HRT as I couldn't function, in work or out of it and due to various things at the time have tried pills first (sorry, i forget which ones) which I felt great on, fog cleared, I lost a bit of weight, sleep improved as did the itching, but my doctor wants me on patches due to blood pressure meds.

I started on Everol Conti which were good for about 7 months then started a bleed, had that checked then back on everol.  After another 6 months the weight was back on and I didn't recognise myself, so moody and a different kind of brain fog.  The doc switched me to Fem 7, no bleeds for me but some of the symptoms are back.

For me I am happy sticking with them, sometimes they iritate but that bit of weight is back off and I CAN THINK!!!  This is just me but I would rather have managable symptons and wait it out, I'm hoping at some point I will come out the other end and I would like to know when that is so I can wean myself off the patches.

I hope you find some relief.

Hi Weeloz,
Sorry you had to change. Did you experienced side effects like hair thinning on you previous parch?

Week 11 and another heavy period. I have asked to continue with femseven for another 3 months as I am still hoping hrt works for me but have to admit the frequent periods are really getting me down and i am debating asking how best to stop the patches. Does anyone know when this normally settles as I thought it was 3 months then I hear 3-6. It feels like a long time already.

It can take six months to settle.

Thank you for your reply. Each time a period stops I think maybe that's it. A week later (if I am lucky) off I go again. Forgot how much shopping and worry this involved lol.

Did you just stop using the patches? I feel run down/anaemic.  I worry that if I just stop it will cause more bleeding?

I feel less anxious and more lively since starting using the patches but the periods are a big problem.

When I stopped Femseven because of bleeding and spotting I had a final quite heavy period and that was it, nothing ever since and no other side effects. I only tried it to improve my VA but upped my local estrogen dosage instead and that worked.
