Title: Switching hrt mid cycle. Advice needed
Post by: Starfish on July 18, 2022, 10:44:03 PM

Hi there,

I finally got my hrt changed after having a rough time with different medications. I had been taking elliste Duet which made my symptoms worse. I have a few days left of the white tablets but picked on my new prescription for patches and utrogestan. The gp said to start with the progesterone alongside the patch for 15 days. Does this sound correct? I thought it would be patch, then add in progesterone in two weeks.

I’m on a patch and Utrogestan and you start that on day 15 of your cycle, if it’s regular. Mine is mostly.

Thanks. I just went ahead and started the utrogesten since it was as mid cycle. I don’t really have a cycle anymore. When I went on hrt I hadn’t had my period in nearly 6 months.

Oh ok. Thats trickier then as once actually past menopause, once you’ve had no period for 12 months, you take it daily at the lower dose but if still menstruating it’s for 12-14 days of the cycle.
