Hi everyone, just got back from breast care clinic where my GP sent me for mammogram/ultrasound
I have fibro cysts - in my left breast which are very painful …… was told this will be made worse by the HRT and to consider giving it up , as can’t stay on it forever !
I started Gel & Utrogestan Jan 2018 - I’m 61.
Don’t know what to do —- any thoughts,anyone .

U can stay on HRT as long as necessary.
What is the next step? R they to be drained: will U have a biopsy? Who told you to stop HRT?
If HRT is helping and fibro cysts aren't dangerous? Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.
MayB get referred to a dedicated menopause clinic for advice, as Gynaes and Oncologists don't know much about HRT and possible risks.

Hi CLKD,thanks for replying, no further action as cysts too small to drain , told to use ibuprofen gel if they get too painful - I saw the Breast Care clinical specialist nurse - although I was sent there 18 months ago and saw consultant and he told me the same 😏- I’ve had cysts / lumpy breasts for years, even before I started taking HRT …….. she just put the fear of god in me today .
I think your right about asking to be referred to menopause specialist, although atm I’m waiting to see consultant as I have an incisional hernia that needs to be operated on, and don’t think I can cope with this too 😔

Hello Patti. I do not have any advice but I just wanted to say how sorry I am you are going through this. It does not sound like your GP is very reassuring which will only add to your anxiety.
