Hi, I've been taking HRT for 6 6 months now - I still have periods so I'm taking Utrogestan for just 12 days but am am feeling so low for the first few days. I'm considering stopping altogether as it's having an awful effect on me. I will speak to my GP but if she isn't really helpful, I was going to try and find someone privately,at least for a consultation. I understand Utrogestan can have this effect, many have the coil fitted instead. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Rachel
Welcome to the forum!
Yes, it can lower your mood.
What dose of Utrogestan are you taking and are you taking it orally or vaginally?
Some people do better taking it vaginally, so you could give that a try.

Hi, thank you!
I'm taking it orally, X2 100 mg per night for 12 nights. I had read vaginally could be better. Do I stick to the same amount & just start taking it vaginally,?

Hi Rachel
A lot of people when using it vaginally only use 1x 100mg.
There is a long thread on MM about using Utrogestan, have a look at it, any questions you have should be answered there.
